Alex and Danielle welcomed a new baby girl to their family in December, so I was overjoyed to update their family photos with her, their son, and their 16 year-old dachshund Honeybee. Their baby girl is so sweet and looks so much like her brother did at that age! Big brother is enamored with her, and talks nonstop about his sister and also Honeybee, both of which he loves hugging and kissing on the forehead. He also loves cameras (!) and was a great assistant during the shoot, taking additional pictures and making sure my bag was properly packed. This family of kind creatives warms my heart and it was a great way to start off my family photos of 2026!

Such a joy to photograph this family again, this time with the bright and shining new addition of a baby boy! Abbi and Olivia have been dear clients and friends for a few years and we’ve quickly bonded over our love of home projects and animals. I should’ve known that their newborn’s room would be equally adorable, complete with painted outlet covers (!) and a beautiful dresser that Olivia had just finished building. I also was able to take photos of the boys on a gorgeous quilt that Abbi made. Their home is full of personal touches everywhere you look, and these boys are so well loved by their mamas and their precious doggo, Basil. This blog post is dedicated in memory to their beloved dog Maizee, who I had the privilege of working with over the years, and who was a beautiful, sweet soul who will be dearly missed.

Kevin+Elana+Elle // Newborn.

We were so happy to be reunited with our clients Kevin and Elana on a platform other than Facebook for the first time since we photographed their wedding in 2013! Not only did we get to see their beautiful and smiling faces again, we also got to meet a new beautiful and smiling face: that of their newborn daughter Elle. And if that’s still not enough for you, we also got to hang out with Elana’s mom who happens to be super cool and one of the committee heads of the CSP Fan Club. PLUS there were two black cats: Madison, who avoided us at all costs, and Brooklyn, who seemed to be under the mistaken but common cat impression that the crib was built specifically for her enjoyment. Brooklyn spent the session meowing incessantly at us. Madison spent the session running from us. Elana’s mom spent the session taking pictures of us taking pictures. Elle spent the session entirely awake except for 4 minutes and was totally suspicious of us. Kevin spent the session alternating between running his business, taking care of his wife and newborn, and trying to placate the cats. Elana spent the session looking gorgeous and put together despite having just had a child and remaining as calm and wonderful as ever.
